I can't very well go to Minneapolis without visiting the Mary Tyler Moore statue on the corner of 7th St and Nicollet Mall. It's now a Macy's on the corner.

First Avenue / 7th St Entry

First Avenue and 7th St Entry are probably the two most famous venues in the city, at 1st Avenue and 7th Streets. This converted bus depot has hosted a who's who of famous acts in the decades that it has been open since 1970. Many of the stage scenes from Purple Rain were filmed here. There was a steady flow of people taking pictures of the stars on the walls outside.
